Should Harry Kane leave White Hart Lane, where might he end up?
Rumours suggest that England captain Harry Kane may be set for a move to pastures new during the summer and with that in mind, now is a great time to register with our featured betting partners and benefit from the very best Harry Kane odds and offers ahead of the new campaign.
Update: 02.08.23
The Harry Kane transfer saga is dragging on and with the new Premier League campaign just a few days away, rumours continue of a move to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
Buy himself free
According to reports from Germany, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is looking to ‘buy himself free’ from the club in order to facilitate a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich before the summer transfer window slams shut. Kane will be out of contract next summer and at that point he will be available on a free, the player having made it clear that he won’t be signing a new deal at that point. The England captain has attracted plenty of interest from various clubs, however German champions Bayern have apparently made two bids rejected and are in the process of making a third bid to the value of £81.6 million.
Walk away for nothing
Given that Kane can walk away for absolutely nothing in less than twelve months’ time, this is a very good offer. Spurs should also consider that next year, a Premier League rival may snap him up, Bayern possibly having lost interest by then. There is confidence that a deal between Spurs and Bayern can be agreed and the bookmakers go odds-on that he is plying his trade at the Allianz Arena in 2023/24, most firms going 1/2 that this proves to be the case. Elsewhere in the market, Tottenham Hotspur are 2/1 to keep the player on their books while Manchester United are as low as 4/1 (best odds 16/1) to snap him up this summer.
Update: 27.07.23
Spurs supporters will have resigned themselves to the fact that Harry Kane is defined to leave the club before the end of the current transfer window, however there is a slight possibility that he will stay put at White Hart Lane.
Sizeable impact
Many Tottenham Hotspur fans will be happy for the Harry Kane saga to come to an end although his departure would have a sizeable impact on new manager Ange Postecoglou’s first campaign in charge of the North London club. In the Premier League, only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland banged in more goals throughout the 2022/23 season (36) and Harry Kane’s goal tally of 30 may well be considered more impressive in what was a disappointing Spurs side.
Mutually agreeable fee
The big question now is, where will Kane end up this summer? Clearly Bayern Munich are the big favourites to land his signature and the big aim for both clubs is to come up with a mutually agreeable fee for the player before the transfer deadline next month. This would allow Postecoglou to prepare for life after Harry Kane although this won’t be so easy given that the striker has scored 17 goals or more in each of the past nine Premier League campaigns.
Dominant side
How many goals will Kane score for Bayern should he leave for the Allianz Arena this summer? Bayern Munich have been dominant in the German top-flight for many years and despite losing Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona in 2022, they banged in more goals (92) than any other side in Europe’s top five leagues with the exception of Premier League champions (94). This would lead many to believe that they aren’t in the market for a prolific goal-scorer but that certainly isn’t the case, Serge Gnabry being their top scorer in the league last term with 14.
Prolific scorer
Thomas Tuchel also had to make do with Thomas Muller and Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting who are both on the wrong side of thirty. The need to bring in a new striker was also highlighted by the struggles of Sadio Mane and the club are happy to offload the player to help fund a bid for Kane. The indications are that Kane could prove similarly prolific for the German giants in the same manner in which he impressed at White Hart Lane.

Update: 24.07.23
The future of Harry Kane is still very much up in the air with a move to Bayern Munich still a distinct possibility for the Tottenham Hotspur star.
The likelihood is that Harry Kane’s time at White Hart Lane will soon be coming to an end but as yet it is unclear where he will be plying his trade after the summer transfer window slams shut. Kane’s contract with Spurs comes to an end in the summer of 2024 and as such, the club will lose him on a free should they fail to agree a transfer deal in the current sales.
Tottenham have apparently set a valuation of £120 million on Kane’s head and as yet no club has met this figure, despite the principal interest coming from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich. Current Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel has discussed personal terms with the 29-year-old but thus far nothing has been agreed. At the time of writing, Bayern are firm favourites to secure Kane’s signature at a general 4/7 (best odds 3/2) but in reality the race to sign the player is far from over.
The Bundesliga giants are looking for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski who left last year and the side struggled in the Champions league following his departure. They still managed to claim the German league title on the closing day of the 2022/23 Bundesliga campaign but would certainly be more than happy to bolster their excellent squad with the addition of Kane.
It is understood that Kane has no interest in staying at White Hart Lane – unsurprising given that they have failed to claim a place in European competition for next season – while Tottenham Hotspur will be happy to offload him this summer and avoid losing him on a free in 2024 when his contract comes to an end. It will be interesting to see where he ends up after the summer sales draw to a close and while Bayern is a likely destination for the England captain, there is still a possibility that he will stay on these shores.
4/6 – Any German Club
3/2 – Bayern Munich
15/8 – Stay at Tottenham Hotspur
4/1 – Any French Club
10/1 – Manchester United
16/1 – Paris Saint-Germain
25/1 – Any Italian Club
33/1 – Chelsea
Update: 20.07.23
Harry Kane continues to be linked with a move to several different clubs although there is every possibility that he will remain at White Hart Lane after the summer transfer window slams shut.
Uncertain future
The future of Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur is still very uncertain as we head ever closer to the 2023/23 Premier League campaign. The 29-year-old started for Spurs in Ange Postecoglou’s first game in charge two days ago, the England skipper being replaced at the interval by Richarlison during the 3-2 defeat to arch-rivals West Ham United in Australia.
Bayern Munich
Should Kane leave Spurs this summer, then Bayern Munich remain the club most likely to secure his signature, at least according to the betting market. Most bookmakers go just 4/6 that the player makes a move from White Hart Lane to the Allianz Arena before the end of the summer sales while many firms go odds-against at 5/4 that he is still in North London for the 2023/24 campaign.
Other potential destinations
Elsewhere, French champions Paris Saint-Germain are a best price of 18/1 to get their hands on Kane this summer although some bookies go as low as 5/1 that he ends up in the French capital. Manchester United are also a best price of 18/1 to sign the England campaign (lowest odds 8/1) while a move to Chelsea is as high as 33/1 and as low as 14/1.
Update: 18.07.23
Bayern Munich have upped their interest in Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane and the bookmakers have shortened the odds on the Three Lions captain moving to the Bundesliga side during the summer.
European competition
It is reported that Bayern Munich have made a bid of £70 million for Harry Kane, the Spurs chairman Daniel Levy having met officials from the German club late last week regarding a potential sale of the striker. Apparently, Kane has made it clear that he wants to be involved in European competition next term and clearly he isn’t going to be doing that if he stays at White Hart Lane.
Presenting his vision
Kane banged in 30 goals for Spurs in the Premier League last season and his current contract with the North London club comes to an end in June 2024. New Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou said that he would be presenting his vision for the club to the player amidst the interest from Bayern Munich.
Pre-season tour
The striker was named in the pre-season squad for the tour of Australia, Singapore and Thailand, however the odds on him making a move to the Allianz Arena have been slashed to as short as 4/6 with some leading UK bookmakers.
Other possible destinations
Elsewhere, Kane is as high as 11/8 to remain at White Hart Lane after the summer transfer window, while Manchester United are a best price of 16/1 to secure his signature. PSG have been linked with the 29-year-old this summer although while some firms go as short as 5/1 that he joins the French champions, such a move is as high as 18/1 with some bookies.
Update: 06.07.23
Three Lions skipper Harry Kane has just one year left on his current contract with Tottenham Hotspur and the indications are that he will move to pastures new during the summer transfer window. Nevertheless, where will he be plying his trade in 2023/24?
Without European football
Even the goal-scoring prowess of Harry Kane wasn’t sufficient to lift Tottenham Hotspur into a Champions League berth for the 2023/24 campaign. Indeed, Spurs are completely without European football next term after finishing a disappointing 8th in the final 2022/23 Premier League table and clearly this won’t suit Kane as he looks to win silverware in his 30th year.
Big transfer story
Kane continues to be one of the big transfer stories of the summer with some big clubs looking to secure his signature before the start of the new campaign, foremost amongst these being Bayern Munich who are actively seeking a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Huge interest
Kane banged-in 30 goals whilst in Premier League action last season and while Spurs failed to make it into the European berths, there is huge interest in the England captain right now. Tottenham Hotspur are odds-on favourites at a general 10/11 to keep hold of their star player but in the event that he does depart for pastures new, then Bayern is deemed to be his most likely destination at a best price of 7/4.
Elsewhere, Manchester United – who have been linked with Kane in the past – are next in the betting at a best price of 16/1 while Chelsea and Real Madrid are best odds of 16/1 and 20/1 respectively to get hold of the Three Lions skipper.
10/11 – Tottenham Hotspur
7/4 – Bayern Munich
16/1 – Manchester United
20/1 – Real Madrid
Update: 28.06.23
Rumours continue as to the future of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, the Three Lions skipper being linked with a move to a handful of different clubs across the continent.
Rejected offer
Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is set to move away from White Hart Lane this summer and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have emerged as the side deemed most likely to secure his signature. Spurs have reportedly rejected an offer (verbal) of £60 million for the striker but while the North London club claim that any bid is going to be rejected, the club’s resolve is certain to be put to the test.
Goalscoring record
Kane smashed through Spurs’ all-time scoring record when scoring the winner against subsequent Premier League campions Manchester City in February and this took his tally for the club to an extraordinary 267, past Jimmy Greaves’ tally 266 which had stood since 1970. Kane has now banged in 280 goals for his current employers across competitions and it’s understandable that they will be eager to keep him on the books for another year, even at the risk of losing him on a free in twelve months’ time.
Possible destinations
Nevertheless, Bayern Munich are priced at a general 8/11 (best odds of 6/5) to sign Kane during the current transfer window while he is a best price of 11/8 to remain at White Hart Lane. Real Madrid are now way behind in the betting at a best price of 12/1 while a move to Manchester United is available at 14/1.
6/5 – Bayern Munich
11/8 – Tottenham Hotspur
12/1 – Real Madrid
14/1 – Manchester United
Update: 21.06.23
Harry Kane scored over 30 goals for Tottenham Hotspur in 2022/23 and while he has been linked with a move to several clubs during the summer transfer window, he is odds-on to stay at White Hart Lane until his contract comes to an end in 2024.
Harry Kane’s goal-scoring prowess wasn’t enough to help Tottenham Hotspur to a Champions league berth for next season, indeed the North London side have failed to secure any European football for next term due to their eighth-placed finish in the Premier League at the end of 2022/23. As such, Harry Kane will be carefully considering his options ahead of the new campaign but while he has been linked with a summer move to several clubs, the bookmakers go odds-on that he stays at Spurs until the end of his contract.
Clearly this would mean that Tottenham Hotspur would possibly lose Kane on a free next summer and with that in mind, the Spurs hierarchy may well be eager to offload him as soon as possible. That said, Kane can be instrumental in bring top-level European football back to White Hart Lane for the following season and there is every possibility that he could extend his contract with the club.
Were Kane to up sticks and move to pastures new, Real Madrid are deemed the side most likely to secure his signature although the odds on the England captain moving to the Bernabeu this summer have drifted from 7/4 to a best price of 4/1. Real do have a habit of raiding Tottenham’s squad for their best players although their main summer target will be PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.
Manchester United have long been seen as a potential destination for Harry Kane but they too have drifted in the market. Only a couple of weeks ago, Kane was a best price of 5/2 for a move to Old Trafford but these odds have drifted significantly to as high as 10/1. Kane will be a big target for Erik ten Hag but it now seems rather unlikely that he will make a move there.
1/2 – Stay at Tottenham Hotspur
4/1 – Real Madrid
10/1 – Manchester United
16/1 – Bayern Munich
20/1 – Paris Saint-Germain
06.06.23
Harry Kane smashed through the 30-goal barrier in 2022/23 thanks to his brace against relegated Leeds United in the final outing of the campaign. The England captain is only the second player after Alan Shearer to break through this barrier in two Premier League seasons although on this occasion it wasn’t enough to secure for Spurs a European berth and as such, attention is turning to where Kane might be plying his trade next term.
Kane has just twelve months left on his contract with Tottenham Hotspur and there is nothing to suggest that he will consider extending this on the back of a thoroughly disappointing Spurs campaign. With a possibility that Kane will be considering his options carefully this summer, we take a look at the leading contenders to secure his signature.
Real Madrid – 7/4
Karim Benzema is to leave Real Madrid this summer and this opens up the possibility of Harry Kane replacing the former French international at the Bernabeu. Kylian Mbappe will be Real’s main target during the summer but the Spanish giants have a habit of raiding Tottenham Hotspur for their best players, recent departures from White Hart Lane to the Spanish capital including Luka Modric in 2012 and Gareth Bale in 2013.
Manchester United – 5/2
Harry Kane may be tempted to stay in the Premier League due to his pursuit of the all-time goal-scoring record. His two goals against Leeds United last month took him to a total of 213 league goals and this leaves him just 47 shy of the record held by Alan Shearer. On that basis, a move to Manchester United wouldn’t come as a huge shock and Kane is reportedly the top summer target for Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.
Chelsea – 12/1
The likelihood of Kane signing for Chelsea is a very slim one, however should the player decide to stay at White Hart Lane beyond the summer months and has a pick of clubs in a year’s time, then Stamford Bridge could be a viable and tempting destination for the England captain. With Mauricio Pochettino in the hot-seat for 2023/24, Chelsea are unlikely to struggle as they did last term and a decent campaign for the Blues might be enough to tempt Kane into staying in London.
