Next Celtic Manager Odds: Brendan Rodgers favourite for the role

Ange Postecoglou has agreed a deal with Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur and he will soon leave for White Hart Lane, therefore leaving reigning Scottish champions Celtic with a vacancy to fill.

Agreed terms

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed terms with Ange Postecoglou to take charge at White Hart Lane and Celtic have already started searching for a suitable successor. Leading contender Brendan Rodgers is the man being tipped to replace him in the Celtic Park hot-seat, however the likes of David Moyes and Enzo Maresca are also in the frame.

Double treble

Rodgers was manager at Celtic between 2016 and 2019 before leaving for Leicester City. The Northern Irishman won two trebles during his time in the east of Glasgow as well as the Scottish Cup just a few weeks prior to his move south. Since being dismissed by Leicester City earlier in 2022/23, he has been out of work and is priced as low as 7/4 to return to Parkhead.

Plan ‘B’

Enzo Maresca is being seen as a suitable ‘Plan B’ should talks to lure Rodgers back to Celtic hit a stumbling block. The Manchester City No.2 reportedly has backing from within the hierarchy at Parkhead and he is certainly one of the leading contenders to replace their Tottenham-bound boss.  Since returning to the Etihad Stadium last year, Maresca has been one of Pep Guardiola’s key assistants and any move by Celtic would take place after City contest the Champions League Final this coming weekend.
