Hard work

Brentford made hard work of their victory over Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday, a penalty shoot-out needed to separate the sides. Southampton complete the quarter-final line-up following a hard-fought 3-2 win over second-tier Stoke City, the Premier League side scoring the winner just a few minutes from time.

 

Intriguing ties

The quarter-final draw has thrown up some intriguing ties with Arsenal going head-to-head with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium, Newcastle United entertaining Brentford at St James’ Park, Liverpool travelling to Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur hosting Manchester United.

 

Joint-favourites

Ahead of the quarter-finals, Arsenal and Liverpool are joint-favourites to lift the trophy at a best price of 11/4.
