England will do battle with European rivals Spain in what looks set to be a fierce and evenly-fought Women’s World Cup Final this weekend. Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses earned their place in the final thanks to a 3-1 win over co-hosts Australia on Wednesday, the reigning European champions returning to their very best following some lacklustre performances throughout the competition.
Attacking football
Spain booked their place in the final thanks to their win over Sweden on Tuesday and there’s little doubt that they will provide the Lionesses with a tough assignment on Sunday. The Spaniards have done extremely well to make it through to their first ever Women’s World Cup final and there’s no doubt that they will once again provide some thrilling attacking football, however the Lionesses have no shortage of big-game experience after their Euro 2022 success and we expect them to make this count on the biggest of international stages this weekend.
