Premier League 2023/24: Dates, Teams and Best Odds

Manchester City once again wrapped up the Premier League title in impressive fashion towards the end of 2022/23 and they will be confident of clinching their sixth title in seven season in less than twelve months’ time. We cast our eyes towards the new season which gets underway on 12th August 2023.

The 2022/23 season was pretty remarkable with Erling Haaland smashing in a record number of Premier League goals and all three newly-promoted sides – Nottingham Forest, AFC Bournemouth and Fulham – all managing to avoid dropping straight back down to the Championship at the first time of asking. With fourteen new appointments, there was also a record number of managerial changes for a single Premier League campaign and with much at stake, the likelihood is that there will be a significant number next term.

Next season promises to be hugely competitive with a rejuvenated Burnley making the jump back up to the top-flight alongside Sheffield United and play-off winners Luton Town, the latter never before having plied their trade in the Premier League.

When does the 2023/24 Premier League season get underway?

The 2023/24 Premier League season gets underway on 12th August, this being one week later than the start of last season. The schedule has returned back to normal following three seasons of disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the autumn World Cup in Qatar.

What are the key dates for the campaign?

First and foremost, the Premier League fixtures will be released on Thursday, 15th June at 09:00. This will allow fans to make early travel and accommodation arrangements for the more important away games. Defending Champions Manchester City will know then who will face in their opening fixture, as will the three sides promoted from the Championship. The start of the summer transfer window is also eagerly awaited and this will only serve to increase the excitement ahead of the new campaign. A record sum of approximately £1.9 billion was spent last summer and the international transfer window will swing open on 1st July this year.

Which teams will compete in the Premier League in 2023/24?

We now know exactly which clubs will be competing in next season’s premier League campaign. Burnley and Sheffield United won automatic promotion after finishing in first and second positions respectively in the Championship while Luton Town will enter the Premier League for the first time in their history after beating Coventry City in the play-off final last weekend.

In the opposite direction we saw Southampton, Leeds United and Southampton drop down into the second tier at the end of 2022/23, struggling Everton having once again saved their skin to fight another day in the top-flight.
