West Ham United, Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion and Rangers have all made it straight into the last sixteen of this season’s Europa League after finishing in pole position in their respective groups. The last 16 fixtures get underway this week and all of the British sides looking to get their two-legged ties off to a positive start.
There are some potential thrillers coming our way in the Europa League this week with all four UK sides doing battle in the last sixteen of the competition.
Liverpool finished in pole position in Europa League Group E with four wins and two defeats from their six group outings. The Reds are favourites to win the competition and they will be confident of success against Sparta Prague this week.

Brighton & Hove Albion impressed in the group stages of this season’s Europa League and with four wins, one draw and just a single defeat from their six games, they finished in pole position in Group B. Whether they can make it past Roma remains to be seen and they will be in for a tough time in the Italian capital this week.

The knockout stages of this season’s Europa League get underway tonight with the last 32 round first leg, however all four British sides have made it through to the last sixteen of the tournament after winning their respective groups.
In Group A, Europa Conference League winners West Ham United took fifteen points from their six group matches to finish in pole position, while in Group B, Brighton won four and lost just once to make it through to the last sixteen. Rangers edged past Real Betis in their final match to take top spot in Group C while Liverpool claimed pole position in Group E with just a single point separating them from second-placed Toulouse.

Despite losing two of their group matches, Jurgen Klopp’s men are deemed the side most likely to lift the 2023/24 Europa League trophy with most bookmakers going 9/4 that the silverware heads back to Anfield. Group H victors Bayer Leverkusen are next in the betting at a best price of 11/2 while AC Milan are an 11/1 shot after dropping down from the Champions League into the last 32 of the Europa League.
Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United are next in the market at best odds of 16/1 apiece, while Scottish side Rangers are way down the market at a best price of 50/1 despite finishing at the summit of Group C after losing just one of their six group outings.

The sixth and final round of the 2023/24 Europa League group stages gets underway on Thursday evening with three Premier League sides eager to ease themselves closer to the last sixteen of the competition.
We’re now at the final round of the group stages of the Europa League and we have already been witness to some shocks and upsets. Nevertheless, it has now become clear who some of the sides are who will be featuring in the knockout phase and as things stand, all three Premier League sides in the tournament are guaranteed to progress from their respective groups although not necessarily straight into the last sixteen.
West Ham sit in pole position in Group A and they are through to the knockout stages of the competition at the very least, while Group E leaders Liverpool have already guaranteed for themselves a place in the last sixteen of the tournament.
