Chelsea v Fulham Match Preview & Best Odds

Kick-off: 12.30pm UK Time, Saturday 13th January 2024

West London rivals Chelsea and Fulham each came up short in their respective League Cup semi-finals last time out and they will both be determined to bounce back by taking the spoils at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

It was disappointment for Chelsea on Tuesday evening when they lost 1-0 to Championship side Middlesbrough in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final although it remains to be seen whether the Teeside outfit can repeat this feat at Stamford Bridge in the next leg. For now, the Blues will turn their attention to the Premier League where three points would be useful in lifting the side further from the bottom half of the league table. Chelsea managed just three home wins in the Premier League between January and November 2023 but since then they have collected nine points at their last three in front of their home fans. They will certainly fancy their chances of making it four on Saturday afternoon.

Progression in the FA Cup was dealt a blow for Fulham when they allowed Liverpool to come from a goal behind to win 2-1, however the Cottagers’ supremacy in defence kept the Reds at bay until half way through the second half, something which could hold them in good stead this weekend. Indeed, Fulham got the better of high-flying Arsenal in their final outing of 2023 and there’s every reason to believe that they will give a decent account of themselves at Stamford Bridge. Nevertheless, Pochettino’s side have rediscovered the art of winning on home soil and with only Sheffield United having leaked more goals away from home than Fulham, we’ll be siding with the home side in this one.

Back Chelsea to win and both teams to score at best odds of 21/10
