Burnley v Crystal Palace Match Preview & Best Odds

Kick-off: 3pm UK Time, Saturday 4th November 2023

Burnley and Crystal Palace do battle with each other for the first time in the Premier League since February 2022 when they fought-out a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.

Burnley managed their first – and thus far only – league win of the season when they edged past fellow strugglers Luton Town to the tune of 2-1 early last month, however far from being the hoped-for springboard for a positive run of form, the Clarets lost each of their last three Premier League outings by an aggregate scoreline of 9-2, their latest outing ending in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Everton in the last sixteen of the EFL Cup earlier this week.

Burnley’s cup exit will be seen by many as a blessing in disguise given that they can focus all of their attention on keeping themselves in the top-flight. Vincent Kompany’s men have collected just four points from their opening ten matches while they have lost each of their five home league games by an aggregate scoreline of 16-4. Should they lose this weekend, then they would become the first ever side in the English top-flight to lose each of their opening six home games in a season.

Having claimed all three points in their 1-0 victory over Manchester United early last month, Crystal Palace then went on to collect just one point from their subsequent three games in October and Roy Hodgson has seen his side slip down to thirteenth position in the Premier League table as a result. The Eagles have failed to win any of their last five meetings with Burnley but they have accumulated seven points from their previous four Premier League trips to Turf Moor and have found the net at least twice in three of these visits.

The home side really cannot afford to drop many more points should they wish to haul themselves out of the relegation zone any time soon but while they will see this match as a good opportunity to claim a maximum points haul, so will the visitors who will be confident of bouncing back from successive defeats.

Back Crystal Palace to win and both teams to score at best odds of 24/5
