AFC Bournemouth v Arsenal Match Preview & Best Odds

Having secured their places in the fourth round of the League Cup earlier this week, Bournemouth and Arsenal go head-to-head in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Following their collapse against Brighton & Hove Albion in their most recent Premier League showdown, AFC Bournemouth managed to bounce back by beating Championship side Stoke City to the tune of 2-0 in the third round of the League Cup earlier this week. This may well prove to be enough to ignite a spark into their Premier League campaign, the Cherries having thus far failed to secure maximum points in any of their league outings and sitting just two points above the foot of the league table.

Meetings with fellow strugglers Everton, Wolves and Burnley in the next few weeks will give Bournemouth three chances to haul themselves up the division but they have failed to register a league victory in ten outings with just two goals scored in 450 minutes of league football. The Cherries have failed miserably to be ruthless in front of their own home fans and this will surely be a hindrance to their chances of getting one over an Arsenal outfit which have been particularly adept at collecting clean sheets on their travels.

Arsenal edged past Brentford 1-0 in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday evening and they will be involved in another London derby in the next round of the competition when they face West Ham United. The Gunners have managed clean sheets in each of their last three away games although defensive frailties were costly for the North London side at the weekend when they allowed arch-rivals Spurs to twice come from behind to force a share of the spoils.

The Gunners haven’t excited that much on the attacking front this season but they have shown plenty of resilience on their travels and a lengthy list of injuries is of relatively little concern given the depth of the squad. Bournemouth have been struggling to find the back of the net on home soil this season and as such, we envisage Mikel Arteta’s side travelling back home with all three points firmly in the bag.
